Murano Software Was Chosen to Support Start-ups at Microsoft EMEA Mobile Incubation Week, 2009
After a successful debut of Mobile Incubation Week in Mountain View, Calif., in April, Microsoft’s second and third events were organized Singapore and London. Murano Software, which supported the original Incubation Week in California, also supported Microsoft’s EMEA Mobile Incubation Week in London.
Murano Software provided two project managers as the full-time support of eight software engineers (via Skype). The Murano Software engineers were each assigned to a start-up, and they communicated with their teams via Skype. Feedback from the participants has been very positive, and many start-ups were pleasantly surprised by the level of support offered by Microsoft and Murano Software.
“The time spent with the dedicated, Russia-based Murano Software engineers via Skype was invaluable. One start-up mentioned to me that this saved him weeks of development time, thereby really improving his chances of speed to market,” wrote Bindi Karia, the VC/emerging business lead for Microsoft UK.
Dimitri Nikouline, Murano Software’s president, was chosen as a member of the judging panel at the event. He said miracles happened over the course of the week, as several start-ups were able to develop and deliver a Windows Mobile 6.5 application within four days. For example, the Rummble / Total Hotspots team pulled together a decent working version of the application within the week through a combination of hard work and great teamwork with Murano Software.

The team worked solidly for four days with a number of the competing mobile application teams, cutting weeks off the development time of their Windows Mobile applications. This commitment to our software partners truly helped them develop some amazing applications and services, and we look forward to working with them again next year,” said Mark Grady, Developer and Business Marketing lead for EMEA at Microsoft.
